156/Silence have once again shown off how visceral and varied their new album ‘From A Distance’ is set to be with a fantastic new offering.
The track in question is ‘Swept From Under (Call of the Void)’, and it finds the band at their most raw and melodic in equal measure. With a chorus that floats like a spectre through eternity, and verses and bridges that demonstrate just how throat-shredding vocalist Jack Murray can deliver, it’s a perfect yin and yang of everything they represent.
It is terrifying and tranquil, harsh and haunting. More than anything, it is spellbinding.
The band had this to say about the track:
“The call of the void is the voice in our heads that wants to self-destruct even when we don’t feel bad. A compulsion to hurt ourselves even if we don’t want to. Being swept from under by intrusive thoughts.”
‘From A Distance’, it is set for release on September 04 via Pure Noise Records.
