A.A. Williams is back once more with another spellbinding piece of extravagance in the form of ‘Wolves’.
A track that feels like plunging into icy waters and letting the serenity of the chill wash over you, it’s ready-made for the peaceful isolation of the winter months. A slowbuild, with Williams’ beautiful vocals skipping between steady spoken word and caramel croons, it dives headfirst into a closing crescendo that sends shivers up the spine. Part post-rock majesty, part symphonic metal intensity, it’s a glorious concoction, one that further establishes A.A. Williams place as one of the most vital voices in modern alternative culture.
She describes the song beautifully, too, explaining, “‘Wolves’ describes the blurred lines between dreams and reality. Ideas and emotions bleed across the boundary, their imprint faint but profound, a softly etched signature on your psyche. Hazy memories begin to fade, you force your feet to touch the ground, yearning for things that were never yours, hopelessly, endlessly searching for the unattainable.”
It follows on from the release of ‘Just A Shadow’ late last year, a song that signalled her signing to Reigning Phoenix Music.
