Caskets Share Cathartic Single ‘Lost In The Violence’

Caskets have shared cathartic single ‘Lost In The Violence’, the opening track of their freshly dropped album ‘The Only Heaven You’ll Know’.

The band’s latest full-length is out today (November 07) via Sharptone Records.

Speaking on the record, frontman Matt Flood has shared:

“This album is a reflection on the moments when I fell apart. It’s raw and unfiltered, more like an audio diary than a record. A reflection of the person I was when everything was collapsing, the self-doubt, the addictions, my broken relationship with faith, all of it. Every song pulls you into what I was really going through. It’s uncomfortable at times, but the most honest I’ve ever been. Facing it is what finally helped me start the healing process. These songs capture what it felt like to lose myself, the exact moments when I cracked. But through it all, this album became a way to reclaim myself, to turn the chaos of my past into something I can finally hold onto and build from.”

Rock Sound recently spoke to Matt all about the creation of ‘The Only Heaven You’ll Know’ as part of our Album Story series.

Speaking on what he hopes people feel when they hear these songs, he told us:

“I don’t want to write songs about getting laid, smoking weed, and going to clubs. I want people to feel my pain, and I think the only way to do that is to be completely raw, completely honest, and very matter of fact. I wanted to go even deeper and talk about all the things that I was still too scared to talk about when we did ‘Lost Souls’. It’s pretty self-critical, but I’m human. We’ve all done bad things, and we’ve all hurt people. It felt important to open up about that.”
