Grey Daze, the original band of Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, have returned with a brand new piece of music to further cement their new era.
Where 2025 saw the band release their first new music since Chester’s passing, following their 2020 ‘Amends’, which consisted of Chester’s vocals over new instrumental recordings, ‘Monster You Adore’ picks up right where those experiments left off. With new vocalist Cris Hodges delivering earnest and heartwrenching melodies, the track is a stark and sensational look at the relationship we have with our demons, and knowing that things can’t go on the way they are.
The band had this to say about its sentiment, stating, “‘Monster You Adore’ is about breaking up with depression knowing something has to change, yet struggling to release the version of themselves shaped by it.”
The track follows on from ‘Shadows’, which was released in November last year.
Drummer and founding member Sean Dowdell had this to say about what it has been like creating music with Cris as the frontman on this new music:
“Cris has brought an energy and voice that reignited our passion for making music. We’re inspired every day by the fans who continue to find hope in these songs.”
