Holding Absence Return With New Single ‘A Crooked Melody’

The band gave the songs its live debut during their European shows earlier this month

Holding Absence have dropped their first new music since the release of spectacular second album ‘The Greatest Mistake Of My Life’ and follow-up EP ‘The Lost & The Longing’ last year.

Check out the video for the poignant new anthem ‘A Crooked Melody’ below:

The band have already been playing the track live during their recent sets supporting Electric Callboy in mainland Europe.

On the track, frontman Lucas Woodland said “A Crooked Melody is simply a song about denial. It’s the lie we tell ourselves every night to help us sleep, but deep down we know the truth. The big difference between a crooked melody and a lie, however, is that it’s sweet, enchanting and easier to swallow.

Holding Absence are about to head out on a US tour supporting The Plot In You and will return to the UK for festival appearances at Slam Dunk and 2000 Trees this summer.

We caught up with Lucas last year as part of our My Favourite Band video series where he told us about how My Chemical Romance have inspired him over the years.
