Korean artist ILHOON has unveiled his latest solo single, and it’s a hook-filled pop-punk banger.
Making his pop-punk debut, his latest track is titled ‘Devil Can Wait’.
Heavily inspired by the early 2000’s pop-punk scene, including everyone from New Found Glory to Avril Lavigne, this is what ILHOON had to say about it:
“There’s an expression ‘heaven can wait’, which roughly translates to ‘it’s so wonderful that even heaven is willing to wait.’. Inspired by that phrase, this song tells the story of knowing it’s the wrong love, and even though the cycle keeps repeating, I have no fear of making the same bad choice while staying true to myself—so much so that even the devil waits. In a Matrix-like world, my life and the love that comes with it will keep making the same choices over and over, but the lyrics carry the meaning that I’m not afraid of it—if anything, I welcome it. I tried to recreate the early-2000s pop-punk sound reminiscent of Avril Lavigne, reimagined through the sensibilities of Jung Il-hoon and Park Odman.”
‘Devil Can Wait’ forms the third chapter of ILHOON’s RGB SGNAL collaborative project, and finds him working alongside producer PakOde.
