Knumears are gearing up for their first release on new label Run For Cover, sharing the details of debut album ‘Directions’
Set for release on April 03, vocalist Matthew Cole had this to say about what it represents for the band, stating, ““I think what draws us to this music, just like everyone else, is the absolute raw emotion. In this kind of music people can really write about whatever they want, whether it’s being super angry, super sad, super happy–all of it has something in common, and that’s feeling so strongly about it that all they can do is scream.”
That sentiment is pulsating through the latest taste of the record. That is ‘Fade Away’, a searing slab of screamo punishment. Poetic refrains and throat-shredding howls collide, all bolstered by a gritty instrumental that builds to a pit-swelling conclusion. It is a blink-and-miss-it epic from a band kicking off their biggest campaign yet in crushing style. It also features an appearance from Jeff Smith of screamo legends Jerome’s Dream.
