Lacuna Coil Release Lyric Video For ‘In Nomine Patris’

Lacuna Coil have shared a lyric video for their mesmerising track ‘In Nomine Patris’.

Taken from the band’s latest album ‘Sleepless Empire’, the video arrives ahead of their November UK tour.

Speaking on the video, the band’s Andrea Ferro has said:

“Once we decided to make a lyric video for the song ‘In Nomine Patris’ we thought we should use the opportunity to bring some of Roberto Toderico’s drawings to life. He did such an amazing job in designing the art for ‘Sleepless Empire’ that it would deserve a complete animated version of the whole album! Obviously, we can only do so much and we’ve opted for this specific song that’s been striking so many people’s hearts. It’s a song about facing the fear of being influenced by things much bigger than us, that we can’t totally comprehend or that we think we’re not ready to face, something we consider sacred in a way. We need to take it one step at the time, day by day, ….it takes time to build an empire.”

Earlier this year, Rock Sound spoke to vocalists Cristina and Andrea for our Album Story feature.

On the sonic direction of ‘Sleepless Empire’ Andrea told us:

“You can do something different to what everybody else is doing, as long as it’s what you feel in the moment. With this album we went with the flow and followed the music. If it felt heavy, we made it heavier. If a song wasn’t sounding like a single, we didn’t make it a single. We’ve learnt over the years that when you just try to give people what they expect, it’s not sincere. We did this because we like it, and I hope people will see the honesty in the music. Who cares what the rules are?”
