Like Moths To Flames Drop Moody Single ‘Soul Exchange’

Like Moths To Flames have shared dark, moody standalone single ‘Soul Exchange’.

The song was written during the sessions for the band’s 2024 album ‘The Cycles of Trying To Cope’.

Speaking on its creation, singer Chris Roetter has shared:

“‘Soul Exchange’ is a weird one… It kind of feels like the one that got away. When we were putting together the record, it was hard to find a place for it. The song is an encapsulation of my experience and relationship with my career. The struggles of writing and feeling like it hits no one. The feeling of falling on deaf ears, being unheard.”

Arriving earlier this year, Like Moths To Flames’ latest full-length ‘The Cycles of Trying To Cope’ was split into four chapters – LIMBO, FRACTURE, DISSOCIATE, and MELANCHOLIA.

Rock Sound spoke to guitarist Zach Pishney about the record, where he told us more about the band’s current situation:

“We’re all so proud of this record. So much blood, sweat and tears went into the making. My biggest pull away is to be in the moment more and enjoy it while it is happening. As I mentioned, I was already writing for ‘Pure Like Porcelain’ before ‘No Eternity In Gold’ was even out. But this time around, I haven’t done anything new musically for Moths since finishing this record. It’s a much-needed break despite getting the itch again. There is a time and place for it, and this is the time for reflection. It’s a case of not worrying too much about that side of what the future holds. I just want us to have a positive attitude. I want the band to reach new heights, and if we all keep doing it, it will help. This record is on the career-redefining side of things and shows that we are here to stay. We can still write songs that are good and fresh. But I still want to be open and available to change, no matter what. My main goal will be to continue to stay present.”
