Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park has released a new track, ‘In My Head’, featuring Arizona alt-pop singer Kailee Morgue.

The new song, which arrives with an eerie, animated video, appears on the soundtrack for the new Scream VI film.

Shinoda also co-wrote and produced the Demi Lovato song ‘Still Alive’, which appears on the latest instalment of the American slasher franchise as well.

‘In My Head’ comes amid a big year for the legendary nu-metal band, arriving just a matter of weeks before the 20th anniversary of Meteora.

A special edition of the album is due out on April 7 to mark the occasion.

In February, the band shared a never-before-heard song from the Meteora archives, ‘Lost’, which featured the late, great Chester Bennington’s vocals and also scored the band their highest-charting UK single in 16 years.

Speaking about his new track, Shinoda paid tribute to the 20 years since the release of Meteora as well as his involvement with the Scream franchise.

He said: “I love that this moment is both a look backward and a look forward, releasing an Anniversary retrospective of Meteora and brand-new music at the same time.

“My whole career, I’ve jumped from Linkin Park to solo stuff to working with others, and it feels great to dive back into that rhythm.

Plus, having both ‘In My Head’ and Demi Lovato’s ‘Still Alive’ in the new Scream VI film is a huge thrill.”
