Goldfinger have shared their new album ‘NINE LIVES’, and it features a whole host of special guests.
There’s one that stands out from the bunch for a special reason. That is on ‘Derelict’, a scathing piece of high-energy ska-punk that features none other than Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills.
Now, those who follow the history of INK will know two important facts. The first is that Spencer’s first-ever show was Goldfinger and MEST at the Worcester Palladium, way back in 2000.
The other is that, before they became the horror-themed behemoth they are now, Ice Nine Kills were a ska-punk band known back then as Ice Nine.
With these two pieces of information in mind, Spencer’s appearance on the track becomes even more profound and important. And you can tell that he is enjoying the chance to flex his two-tone bone, delivering fast, fierce and fun refrains before letting out an all-encompassing scream during the finale.
It’s a reminder that dreams do and will come true; you just have to let life happen for you to reach them.
