Lonely The Brave have announced that they have reunited with Dave Jakes, their original vocalist, and will be playing live again very soon.
Jakes fronted the band on their first two albums, 2014’s ‘The Day’s War’ and ‘2016’s ‘Things Will Matter’, before departing due to health reasons back in 2018. The band then released two albums with Jack Bennett, them being 2021’s ‘The Hope List’ and 2023’s ‘What We Do To Feel’.
The band have shared the details of two shows later in the year as a means of reintroducing this line-up, taking place in Cambridge and London.
Guitarist Mark Trotter had this to say about the reunion:
“The five of us reconnecting was something totally organic and unexpected. There was no big pre-conceived plan to start playing with Dave again, but it’s been the best thing ever. To all be in a rehearsal room together again, hearing his voice with the songs we wrote, being the band we were when we first started all this… It’s incredibly special and something all five of us are not taking for granted. The only reason we are here, coming back as our original lineup, is based solely on a sense of friendship, fun and freedom. It’s exciting for all of us, and we can’t wait to see you all at these two shows. They will be the first of many, but are definitely the only shows this year. Once the tickets are gone, they are gone. See you in November!”
