Mallory Knox have well and truly cemented their return with the unveiling of a new track, their first with vocalist Mikey Chapman in nine years.
The band first made their comeback in 2024 at Slam Dunk Festival, before heading out on tour for a 10th anniversary celebration of their album ‘Assymetry’, but now it’s clear their sights are set on the future.
And ‘Afterglow’ serves as a rousing reminder of what makes them such a compelling asset to the British rock scene. Crystalline melodies mashed with wave after wave of atmospheric guitars, it rolls the years back as much as it sets new wheels in motion. As spine-tingling as it is soaring, it is very nice indeed to have them back doing what they do best.
Mikey had this to say about the track:
“Afterglow is the very first song Dave, James and I jammed out after deciding to write again as a band. The song reflects the anticipation, excitement and hope we found in those initial moments as we brought the band back to life. Lyrically, I wanted to embody the mantra that I had been telling myself for some time at that point – that there is life yet to be lived if only you are willing to try. I hope that many will find their own inspiration and hope within the song too.”
