My First Time have added yet another banger to their collection with the release of ‘Every Version Of You’.
A song that would slide perfectly into the indie discos of two decades ago, whilst still feeling thoroughly modern and fresh, it is transient in scope and direct in approach. Bass-heavy, belligerent in its own way and sensationally catchy from beginning to end, the band continue to exude more and more confidence and creativity with every release.
Vocalist Isaac Stroud-Allen had this to say about what the track represents to the band:
“Every Version Of You’ is the belief that somewhere out there, you are a great person. With nostrils flared like a racehorse, you encumbered on a journey of self-actualisation that granted you complete happiness. Pure joy. In that world, somewhere, you have everything. You are not ageing or drugged out or ignored. You are not gouging out your eyes to fill someone else’s pockets. Your love has not dried up. You are someone completely different. With your name and your face, they look like every other version of you. But this version … this version is great.”
It follows on from standalone track ‘Paris, Texas’, which sounds like this:
