Queens Of The Stone Age Share Tranquil New Track ‘Easy Street’

Queens Of The Stone Age are back with their first new music in three years, and whatever you think it is going to be, you’re going to be incredibly wrong.

Titled ‘Easy Street’, it finds the band straying into territory often not associated with them. Acoustic-led, sun-stained, and beautifully peaceful, it is a blend of lovely melodies, shimmering atmospheres and poetic refrains. Featuring a guest appearance from Nikki Lane, it’s a woozy, curious and wonderfully constructed left turn from a band that manage to always have a surprise up their sleeve.

Saying all of that, the video is still absolutely wild.

Guiatrist/vocalist Josh Homme had this to say about the tune:

“It’s kind of a funny song. It’s like hitting your funny bone, where it’s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it’s funny. You’re serious, but it’s funny. We made it the way you’d make a demo. No click track, mistakes left in. It speeds up, it slows down, the claps aren’t great, but they’re not bad, and a bad clap adds this human thing you can’t fake.” He continues, “It’s not just about silliness. It’s about understanding the imperfection of your life. The song, like your life, is in the mistakes. Its imperfections are unbeatable.”

The band are out and about at the moment, serving as support for System Of A Down, before nipping out with Foo Fighters.
