Ren has shared the full version of a release he has been building for well over six months. This is ‘Vincent’s Tale’, and it is quite something.

What started out in July of last year with the release of ‘Sunflowers (Prologue)’ has now been unveiled in all of its glory. Made up of seven tracks and clocking in at 18 minutes, it is a bold, brutal and brilliant piece of alternative storytelling. A wild mix of punk, funk, rock, rap and everything in between, on the surface, it is a tale told through two pairs of eyes – those of Vincent, a troubled figure committing an offence after being pushed to the edge, and Richard, the law enforcement that has to deal with him, who possesses demons of his own. Musing on everything from crime and punishment to addiction, class struggle and society crumbling around us, this is social commentary at its most laser-focused and lamenting.
Sonically undeniable, lyrically poetic and thematically heartbreaking, it’s the sort of body of work that sticks with you long after it has ended. Because the issues that it raises cannot be swept under the carpet. They are happening right now, all around us, and if we turn our backs on them, there is no way things will ever change.
Also, much of the recording is also loosely inspired by Vincent Van Gogh and his beautiful, tortured artwork. So see how many connections you can find between the two as you experience it.
The full release can be heard here.

It can also be viewed through a visual lens, with the latest chapter, that being ‘The Bedroom’, having just been released.
Ren will be joining Twenty One Pilots at their massive exclusive UK show at All Points East on August 30. They will also be joined by Wunderhorse, BBNO$, PVRIS, Nova Twins, Dead Pony, Kid Kapachi, and LEAP. Tickets are available right now from right here.
