The Academy Is… have revealed all of the details of their first album in 18 years, following up 2008’s ‘Fast Times At Barrington High’
Titled ‘Almost There’, it will be released on March 27 via I Surrender Records. The record will serve as a counterpart and accompaniment to the band’s 2005 debut, ‘Almost Here’.
The band had this to say about the record, sharing, “Almost Here was the beginning. Almost There is the reflection. It’s about being alive in this moment, checking in with who you thought you’d be, seeing what changed, what stuck, and what still feels like home.”
Speaking of 2005, the album’s first taste is also titled that. ‘2005’ is reflective, atmospheric, dream-like and beautifully fresh. A look to the past as much as a sign that we are living in the here and now, it’s nostalgic and lovely in all the right ways.
