The Amity Affliction Announce New Album ‘House Of Cards’

The Amity Affliction have revealed the details of their 9th full-length album, the follow-up to 2023’s ‘Not Without My Ghosts’.

It’s called ‘House Of Cards,’ and it will be released on April 24 via Pure Noise Records. It is the first body of work from the band to feature Jonny Reeves as clean vocalist following his position being made permanent after becoming established as their touring bassist.

The artwork for the record looks like this:

And the tracklisting like this:

5. Bleed
6. Break These Chains

The band have also shared the title track, an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. Written for himself as well as his brother and sister, it’s a song about shared trauma and connection through adversity. Presented in a manner that ebbs and flows in the same way that different emotions can come and go, it’s a song that so many who are listening will be able to relate to. It will hopefully serve as solace, safe in the knowledge that they aren’t alone in the things they have experienced or may still be experiencing.

Vocalist Joel Birch had this to say about it, stating, “Our mother died in 2024, and none of us had a healthy relationship with her. She was very self-involved, aggressive and abusive in our early years and in her later years, spent a good amount of time trying to put a wedge between the three of us. Thankfully, once she passed, the three of us actually became closer as we realised we had individual but shared trauma related to her.”

The video that accompanies it perfectly encapsulates the pain and isolation of such a situation, and you can check it out below.

The band have also announced the dates for a UK/EU tour, with support coming from Silent Planet, Varials and ORTHODOX. Now, THAT, is a line-up.
