The Xcerts Release Joyous New Track ‘GIMME’

The Xcerts have signed to UNFD and kicked off a new chapter in seriously buoyant style.

The Xcerts are back, and have a lot to share with you.

First off, they have signed with the Australian heavyweight label UNFD.

Vocalist Murray Mcleod had this to say about it:

“We’re over the moon to have joined the UNFD family. It’s perhaps the first time in our career we have signed with a label who are as passionate about the band as we are. We feel very fortunate to be taken on by such a brilliant and versatile company this deep into our career.”

And to celebrate, they have shared a new track as well. And it’s a belter.

It’s called ‘GIMME’ and is a completely new direction for the band. Coated in bubblegum and 90’s leaning reverb, it’s fresh, fierce and fun in all of the best ways. All of the deep earnest, and heart-on-sleeve attitude that the band have become renowned for is still there, but there’s a new sheen to it all. And it is a joy to behold.

Murray had this to say about it:

“It’s been too long since we last released new music and we wanted to reintroduce ourselves with a rebirth of sorts. ‘GIMME’ is our most bombastic piece of work, sonically and musically, so it felt like the perfect introduction to the new era. Unapologetically in your face and written with complete artistic freedom. Lyrically, it’s more observational than gut-wrenchingly personal; when burning desire meets apathy, it’s both comical and pitiful, which makes for one hell of a scene.”

Let’s gooooo:

It’s the first new original music from the band since 2019’s ‘Wildheart Dreaming’.
