TheBoyShadow, the new project from former Loathe guitarist Connor Sweeney, have shared another new track, and it’s equal parts pummelling aggression and glorious melancholy.
Following on from the off-kilter brutality of debut single ‘Give Me A Seam & I’ll Show You The Meaning’ and its gorgeously atmospheric follow-up ‘Bliss Being’, the project’s latest offering is titled ‘Innocent Instinct’.
This one offers up another slightly different side of the outfit’s sound, finding them somewhere between gut-wrenching sadness and blood-boiling fury. Filled with venom and punctured by glitchy electronics, it’s the kind of track that makes you reconsider just what heavy music can be. Bold, punishing, and never venturing quite where you expect it to.
