Tigercub Release Scuzzy New Track ‘The Perfume Of Decay’

Tigercub have a new label and a new deafening spring in their step, as this towering new track demonstrates.

Tigercub are back with their first new music of 2022, and it signals a new chapter in their story.

First off, it’s the first music from the band following their signing to Loosegroove Records, the label owned by Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard.

And with such a special signing, a special song is needed.

That arrives in the form of ‘The Perfume Of Decay’, a stalking, crushing, towering piece of heavy as fuck riffing and howling melody.

It is an absolute rip-roarer, full of darkness and devastation, and it shows off the band in their finest light.

Vocalist Jamie Hall had this to say about it:

They say comparison is the thief of joy, and nowhere is this more acutely felt than on the internet; the public ledger where I must amend my social cv daily, to portray my life to others in the most rose tinted & ineffable way possible. The reality couldn’t be further from the truth of course, beneath this facade I am crumbling, cascading into despair and at odds with my emotions. ‘The Perfume of Decay’ is my expression of this feeling, an argument between affectation and naturalness. It marks the beginning of a new era for us – this is Tigercub at its heaviest, its most accomplished, and most unapologetic.

And Stone had this to say about the signing:

“Jamie Hall is not only an incredible songwriter, singer, and fucking wicked guitarist, but he also has a deep understanding of art and music history. This guy dabbles in it all — visual arts, digital media, world history. This band is generational, and Jamie’s a natural star. Loosegroove couldn’t be happier working with Tigercub.

Here’s the tune, it’s a belter:
