Evanescence brought their contribution to the Devil May Cry soundtrack to one of gaming’s biggest stages and absolutely smashed it.

The Game Awards took place last night (December 11), with the likes of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Hades II and Donkey Kong Bananza picking up some of the biggest prizes. Though it wasn’t all about silverware, with Amy Lee and co popping up for a special performance.
Their track ‘Afterlife’ was first released back in the Spring as an accompaniment to the Netflix adaption of the classic Devil May Cry, with Season Two now officially coming on May 12 2026. A stirring, atmospheric, biting track, it has also just been remixed by GUNSHIP for a Spotify Singles series in collaboration with the Game Awards. That set also featured a cover Cyberpunk: Edgerunners track “I Really Want To Stay At Your House’ by Bilmuri.
But when it came down to playing the track in front of such an expectant audience, the band made it look like light work. From Amy’s immaculate vocals to the bursts of flames at accompany the soaring chorus, all backdropped by dramatic clips from the series, it was a stellar display from a band that continues to lead the way in more ways than one.
Have a watch of it for yourself below.
Evanescence recently announced that they will be heading out on a huge world tour and bringing some very special guests along. They will hit up North America with Spiritbox and Nova Twins, before heading to the UK with Poppy and K.Flay. They will then see things out in mainland Europe with Poppy and Nova Twins.
Amy Lee had this to say about the trek, stating,“This year has been so inspiring in so many ways, creating so much new music, playing some bucket-list shows and working with so many artists that give us life. We are taking all of that fire and energy and inspiration and building it into an epic 2026 for our fans. Collaborating with K. Flay, Poppy, and Courtney Le Plante made me want to create a world where we could share stages together, and I’m thrilled we are going to make it happen! I can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on, and I can’t wait for this incredible tour.”
