Of Virtue’s Favourite New Bands | New Discoveries

Ahead of the release of their new album ‘Omen’ on September 29, Of Virtue guide us through some of the bands that they are most excited about right now.

Moxy

Tyler: “I found out about them because of an unfortunate situation. Craig Owen’s crew got into an accident and Moxy was opening for him on that tour and I went and checked them out because of their unfortunate situation and I was so blown away by them. ‘The Feeling Of Letting Go’ is easily one of my favorite songs I’ve heard this year and I can’t wait to see them blow up!”

Nerv

Tyler: “I was listening to a playlist on Spotify and this band came up and I immediately added them to my liked songs. Fast forward a few months, we got a tour offer that they were on and it reminded me to go listen to more of their music and I really enjoy their music! They are awesome people too but genuinely if you don’t know who they are, you’re missing out! Very catchy, great melodies and insanely talented. Can’t wait to see where they end up.”

Orbit Culture

Mike: “Dudes are heavy as hell and it’s been a long time since there’s been a metal band that’s impressed me like that. No frills, balls to the wall just ripping your face off with each song. These dudes are spearheading a new wave of heavy metal that is going to take over the world soon.”

Bleed From Within

Mike: “Just going with back-to-back heavy bands on this one! Seems like they are really hitting their stride after this latest record and similar to Orbit Culture they will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come. It’s refreshing to have bands similar to Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and other artists I grew up listening to making a comeback in sound.”

Senna

Damon: “I had not heard of them before we toured but once I did, I became an instant fan. Musically it’s smart, catchy and just makes you feel good and either want to dance or enjoy a quiet evening on your own. And on top of that, they are all great dudes so it makes everything that much more special.”

nightlife

Damon: “I was at the gym listening to a Spotify playlist when I heard their cover of Rob Thomas ‘Lonely No More’. As I scrolled through more of it, this band is the ultimate mood setter. They frequently pop up in my after show / night drive sessions and I can’t wait to see what they do moving forward.”

Gutter King

Ryan: “This band is from my hometown Calgary, Alberta. They are incredibly talented musicians and their music is a reflection of that. They’re currently putting out new music and I am absolutely loving the direction they are going in. Whether you’re a fan of pop punk, metalcore, or pop music, you’ll find something you enjoy about this band!”

Half Me

Ryan: “I recently had the opportunity to meet this band while out on tour in Europe. I had never listened to the band previously; however, I was absolutely blown away by the music they have put out. They are also our label mates over at Arising Empire! If you enjoy heavy music, this band is for you!”
