Avenged Sevenfold have set a plastic world ablaze on the new video for their track ‘Mattel’.
For anyone who’s somehow managed to avoid seeing Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster ‘Barbie’ movie – which includes Wolfgang Van Halen and Josh Freese on its soundtrack – a general premise (without spoilers) is that all is not as it should be in Margot Robbie’s Barbie Land.
Well Avenged Sevenfold have taken that to an extreme for the brand-new video of their track ‘Mattel’.
Directed by Zoe Katz, the live-action visual sees a plastic world go up in flames after a number of indecent incidents – have a watch for yourself below.
The track ‘Mattel’ – which, incidentally, is the name of the toy company that makes Barbie – is taken from the group’s ‘Life Is But a Dream…’ album, which arrived in June.
The project also features ‘Nobody’ which hit Number 1 on the Rock radio charts.
In Rock Sound’s ‘The Album Story’ feature upon the album’s release, frontman M. Shadows explained how the project came together after he’d suffered a serious injury and had to find the right vocal coach and learn to sing again.
The heavy metal outfit are just about to kick-off the second leg of their North American tour. Check out the full dates below – and visit the band’s site for more details and to buy tickets.
