Code Orange Share Emotive New Single ‘Mirror’

Code Orange are showing a completely different side to their game on the latest cut from their forthcoming album.

‘Mirror’ seems a far-cry from the raucous prior singles released from their forthcoming album ‘The Above’, which is set to arrive September 29.

Whereas ‘Grooming My Replacement’, ‘The Game’ and the Billy Corgan-featuring ‘Take Shape’ shared the band’s typically abrasive manner, new offering ‘Mirror’ is a softer, breezy track with guitarist Reba Meyers taking lead on vocals.

Have a listen via its brilliantly animated video below, which includes stop-motion and claymation, and is directed by the band’s audio-visual collective NOWHERE2RUN.

Speaking about the new track, Meyers has said:

“This song has a special place in my heart. To me, it’s the climax of this style of my writing in this band thus far. Take a look in the mirror, are you bored?”

The band’s Jami Morgan, meanwhile, has added:

“Mirror is NOWHERE2RUN’s first foray into full music video production from conception all the way to the final edit. It’s fitting that we took on a song that is dynamically disparate from anything CODE ORANGE has ever done.

“It’s a little softer, a little more lush, and led by a powerful performance from Reba. It’s another important piece of the puzzle that is The Above.”
