Download Festival Announces Fall Out Boy, Avenged Sevenfold And Queens Of The Stone Age As 2024 Headliners

Download Festival has announced Fall Out Boy, Avenged Sevenfold and Queens Of The Stone as the headliners for next year’s mammoth event – along with over 80 more artists on the lineup.

The 21st edition of the festival will take place at its spiritual home of Donington Park, Leicestershire, between June 14 and 16 next year.

General tickets are on-sale from 9pm on Thursday November 09 via the festival’s site.

As well as that incredible run of headline acts, the artists announced this evening (November 07) include Royal Blood, The Offspring, Sum 41, Corey Taylor, Pantera, BABYMETAL, While She Sleeps and, of course, a whole lot more.

Next year’s event will mark Fall Out Boy’s first time headlining Download Festival, with the last time they played the festival being 2014 (when they were main support to Linkin Park).

Queens Of The Stone Age will also be taking up their first Download Festival headline slot, with the last time they played at Donington coming in 2013.

Closing the proceedings will be Avenged Sevenfold, following the release of their recent ‘Life Is But A Dream…’ album, a record which you can read all about via an in-depth interview with frontman M. Shadows for Rock Sound’s ‘The Album Story’ feature.

Other acts announced for the special event include Machine Head, Fear Factor, Billy Talent, Bowling For Soup, The Used, Hoobastank (playing ‘The Reason’ in full), Atreyu, Counterparts, Bad Omens, Dying Fetus, The Black Dahlia Murder, Those Damn Crows, Holding Absence, Silverstein, Charlotte Sands, Thy Art Is Murder, Fit For A King and – yes, you guessed it – even more.

Speaking of playing next year’s Download Festival, Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates has said:

“We are super excited to be playing Download for the third time but as they say the third time is a charm, so hopefully we get it right this time! We appreciate everyone coming back and joining in the madness and the fun.”

Download Festival’s Andy Copping, meanwhile, has added:

“After our unbelievable 20th anniversary celebrations last year, we couldn’t be more excited about what DLXXI has in store.

“This year we have two brand new headliners in the form of Queens Of The Stone Age and Fall Out Boy, as well as the mighty Avenged Sevenfold and a whole host of huge names that make every second of Download Festival memorable. I can’t wait to join the fans there – it is our home.

“We have the best and friendliest community together and we can’t wait to celebrate the next 20 years of Download with you all.”

Many more acts are set to be announced.
