Lauran Hibberd Shares Personal Single ‘I Suck At Grieving’

Lauran Hibberd has shared her second single of the year, with ‘I Suck At Grieving’ out now.

The new tune follows the release of pop-punk track ‘Honda Civic’ earlier this year, which marked Hibberd’s first release since her debut LP ‘Garageband Superstar’ last year.

‘I Suck At Grieving’ is a particularly personal track, detailing how the singer has navigated her way through the grief of losing her father.

Discussing the new track, the Hibberd has described the personal experience the song reflects on, sharing:

“I guess eventually you run out of stuff to laugh about, and have to look life or in this case death straight in the eye. I lost my dad last year, and I changed in an instant but forever.

“I found everyone’s advice on grief painful and inappropriate, and I couldn’t work out why I couldn’t grieve like the internet told me to.

“This track feels like an extension of me, and I know it’s not my usual tricks but it feels more me than anything I’ve ever made before.

“This is a song for people who don’t want to grieve, for people who don’t know where to start, and for people who don’t know how it ends.”

Hibberd is currently on an extensive run of tour dates across North America and Australia.

This year’s already seen her play the likes of TRNSMT Festival, Reading and Leeds and her own mini UK headline tour.
