Don Broco are in a celebratory mood – and up for trying stuff a bit left-field – on their brand-new single, ‘Birthday Party’.
The track was first announced at the start of the month, off the back of the Bedford rocker’s huge Reading and Leeds Fest performances.
Its release coincides with the band’s 16-date ‘Birthday Party Tour’, kicking-off at Reading’s Hexagon on November 29.
The new single has arrived with its own music video that depicts a rather surreal birthday party – have a watch and a listen below.
Describing the new track, and perhaps going some way to explaining why the video is as peculiar as it is, Don Broco frontman Rob Damiani has said:
“Birthdays can be the absolute worst. You get all hyped up for what you think is a guaranteed top day, but when that doesn’t work out you can’t help but feel EXTRA bad.
“I don’t really like birthdays because of this, but one year tried throwing a last min shindig and in classic form it was not well attended, haha.
“I can’t say I took it well but my only option was having a party for one and this song is the story of that night.”
The new single also arrives following the news of the band sharing their ‘Live At The Royal Albert Hall’ LP, taken from their orchestral performance at the iconic show last year.
And if you missed that, or indeed if you simply want to head out to see them again, you’re invited to their forthcoming ‘Birthday Party Tour’, which will see them play some of the smallest venues they’ve played in years – and conclude with two consecutive nights at London’s KOKO.
