Foo Fighters Announce Josh Freese As New Drummer

Foo Fighters have confirmed that Josh Freese will be joining them as their new drummer on their upcoming tour dates.

Josh has previously played and toured with Nine Inch Nails, Guns ‘N’ Roses, A Perfect Circle and Paramore. He was also part of the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert at Wembley Stadium last year, performing ‘Times Like These’ and ‘All My Life’ with the band as well as accompanying Wolfgang Van Halen.

The news was revealed during the band’s ‘Preparing Music For Concerts’ livestream earlier tonight (May 21), with the show opening with a skit involving a series of other famous drummers – Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith, Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee and Tool’s Danny Carey.

The band then proceeded to play a set of classics alongside cuts from upcoming new album ‘But Here We Are’, which is set for release on June 02. They closed their show with ‘Aurora’, widely thought to have been Taylor Hawkins’ favourite Foo Fighters song.

You can watch the full stream right now over on Veeps for free where it will be available for the next 72 hours.
