Girlfriends Release New Single ‘Life’s A Brittany’ Ahead Of New EP ‘Over My Dead Body’

Pop-punk duo girlfriends have shared the news of a forthcoming EP with the release of new single ‘Life’s A Brittany’.

The new EP, ‘Over My Dead Body’ is set for release on May 12 and was produced by Andrew Goldstein, whose prior credits include Machine Gun Kelly, Papa Roach and blackbear.

Listen to the new track below.

Speaking of the acoustic-guitar driven track released today ahead of the EP, Travis Mills – one half of the band along with Nick Gross – has said:

“‘Brittany’ was one of those songs that started off as a complete joke in my head.

“I almost felt guilty writing it because it’s so conversational and ‘easy,’ that I had to question if it was good or not.

“The beauty about working with a producer like Goldstein is he does a really great job at stripping away the ‘rules’ of songwriting.

“If it’s good it’s good, and I think it’s a song a lot of people would be scared to make, but it hits the nail on the head of who we are not only as a band but as people.”

Today’s news comes as the band gear up for the support slot on Avril Lavigne’s upcoming sold-out European Tour, in which they’ll be playing ten cities across the continent. The pair will also be joining The Used and Pierce The Veil on their Creative Control Tour later in the year – where no doubt they’ll be playing today’s brand-new track.
