I Prevail’s Brian Burkheiser will sit out of the band’s forthcoming European and UK shows, to allow him to recover from surgery.

The band will be commencing a number of dates across the continent later this month, starting in Berlin on May 10.

Lead singer Brian will now not be with the band for these shows, but will instead recover from a surgery he recently underwent in February relating to “a longstanding medical issue.”

In his place will be Eric Vanlerberghe and guitarist Dylan Bowman doubling-up on vocals.

Explaining the situation in a statement to their socials, the band explained:

“To the I Prevail Community: Brian recently underwent surgery for a longstanding medical issue in February.

“The doctors involved were confident this timeframe would allow Brian to recover and perform the upcoming radio shows (Milwaukee / Minneapolis) and European/U.K. tour, but unfortunately the recovery process has taken longer than initially expected.

“Brian’s recover is going well, but he’s not ready to take the stage quite yet. Have no fear however, we are still playing ALL upcoming shows with Eric and Dylan doing double duty on vocals.

“We poured our heart into this show and promise we will deliver you all a special experience.

Brian will be home working hard on his recovery and he looks forward to seeing you all this summer. See you soon, I Prevail.”

I Prevail recently announced a North American co-headline tour with Halestorm, set to take place from July.
