Skindred On Track For Highest Charting Album Ever

Skindred are currently leading the way in an intense chart battle which could see them bag their first UK Number 1 album, the Official Charts Company have revealed.

Skindred

Skindred released their eighth studio album ‘Smile’ last Friday, August 04, and are currently battling it out in a three-way race against new records from The Sherlocks and Cian Ducrot.

As it stands, the Welsh ragga-metallers are currently on course to finish top of the pile, which would not only secure them their first chart-topping album, but would be their first album to enter the Official Albums Chart Top 10 as well.

The Newport band’s charismatic frontman Benji Webbe and drummer Arya Goggin spoke to Rock Sound and gave a track-by-track breakdown of ‘Smile’ – from its summertime ‘L.O.V.E. (Smile Please)’ bop to its emphatic ‘Unstoppable’ closer.

Have a watch below.

Skindred recently announced their largest show to date, with a huge Wembley show taking place on March 15 next year.

The event will be in-between two other shows in Manchester (March 14) and Birmingham (March 16).

What a year 2023 has been for Skindred. As well as playing Glastonbury, Download, 2000 Trees and being the opening support for KISS, they may well have one more thing to shout about by the time the full Official Charts are in at the end of the week.
