Takedown Festival has announced Trophy Eyes as special guests for their 2024 edition, adding to a line-up that already includes Creeper, Kid Kapichi and Dinosaur Pile-Up.
Set to take place at the Portsmouth Guildhall – and, for the first time ever, across two days (April 13 and 14) – the festival had already announced a number of strong names on its billing.
And now they have a very exciting headliner to shout about too, with Trophy Eyes set to perform at the Total Rock stage on the Saturday (April 13).
Takedown returned last year after an eight-year hiatus, with headliners Sleep Token and Skindred seeing the festival make a comeback in style.
Other acts announced for this year’s instalment include Kid Bookie, Dead Pony and Cassyette.
Kai and Sarah Harris of Takedown Festival Ltd have said of the latest addition to the lineup:
“We are so happy to kick start 2024 by welcoming Aussie punks Trophy Eyes to the Takedown line-up, who bring an international flavor to the ‘almost’ final line up.
“Throughout all the announcements so far we have been committed to pushing the boundaries of the metal, alternative, and rock genres and we are thrilled to be able to bring over such a highly regarded international band to the UK for Takedown Festival.”
Trophy Eyes will, of course, be playing the festival following the release of their ‘Suicide and Sunshine’ album last year, which frontman John Floreani told us all about at the time of release in our ‘The Album Story’ feature, sharing:
“There is a different energy, and we do feel happy again.
“We’re not doing this to be the biggest band in the world or anything like that. We just want to be together. We just want to write music. It’s a little love story.
“This isn’t attempted stardom, if this thing can just run itself and pay for itself… that’s what we’re supposed to do.”
