ArcTanGent Festival has announced Meshuggah as its Friday night headliner for next year’s event, with Animals As Leaders set to play before them.
The announcement marks a double-whammy of exclusives, being Meshuggah’s only UK date next year and Animal As Leaders’ only European show for 2024.
Today’s announcement follows the recent release of the first wave of acts for next year’s ArcTanGent, which so far includes And So I Watch You From Afar, Three Trapped Tigers and Red Fang.
Taking place near Bristol between August 14 and 17, the festival will be celebrating its tenth year in 2024, and has once again been shortlisted for Best Medium Festival at the Festival Awards (it won Best Small Festival in 2018).
Festival booker and organiser James Scarlett has shared his excitement about the first headline announcement, saying:
“To celebrate our tenth birthday we wanted to invite back some of our all-time favourite bands from over the years.
“We drew up a list of all the bands that have ever played ATG that we’d like back and, as it was probably the best thing I’ve ever seen at ATG, naturally Meshuggah was top of that list.
“Animals As Leaders last played way back in 2016 so they weren’t far behind! We’re stoked to be welcoming both bands back in even bigger fashion than last time, to celebrate 10 years of ATG.”
