Listen To Ghost’s Cover Of ‘Stay’ Featuring Patrick Wilson

Ghost have dropped a cover of Shakespears Sister’s ‘Stay’, featuring Hollywood star Patrick Wilson.

It might not be the collaboration you were expecting, but nonetheless it’s arrived, with Sweden’s theatrical rock outfit teaming-up with the ‘Insidious’ star Patrick Wilson for their latest single.

Have a listen to the cover of the 1992 Brit Award-winning single below.

The pairing came about after Wilson, an avowed Ghost fan, saw the Swedish rock band twice in 2022 and met up with singer Tobias Forge whilst working on his  directorial debut, Insidious: The Red Door.

Contemplating ways to involve Ghost more in the film, the collaboration seemed like the natural route.

Given Forge was then currently working on a version of Shakespears Sister’s ‘Stay’ – a #1 hit in 1992 in his native Sweden – the choice of track also became apparent.

Wilson has said of the collaboration and working with Ghost:

“Ghost, for me, is one of the most unique rock bands out there. Tobias’ sense of melody is only matched by his storytelling. The blistering imagery of him and the band is unlike any other.

“The balance of dark lyrics with soaring (and dare I say… angelic) melodies, make listening to them a different experience than any other band out there. At least that’s what it does for me.

“Ghost is the perfect blend of theatricality met with musical mastery. Tobias is at the top of his game and I’m thrilled to have him on the soundtrack, and honored to sing alongside him.”
