Citizen have released the latest single from their forthcoming album, with ‘When I Let You Down’ providing another dose of rock honesty.
So far from their forthcoming ‘Calling The Dogs’ album – which is set for release October 06 – the band have shared the emphatic ‘Hyper Trophy’ and the more thoughtful single ‘If You’re Lonely’.
And now they’ve added new track ‘When I Let You Down’, which adds to a growing sense that the album tackles themes of personal growth in an honest, authentic fashion.
Have a listen to the new track via its video which, fittingly for such a diaristic tunes, uses a lot of behind-the-scenes recordings.
Discussing the new track and how it’s derived from reminiscing over old memories and people, lead singer Mat Kerekes has said:
“When you talk to an old friend and they can only say, ‘remember when,’ it makes me really sad. It’s a very subtle way of showing the friendship has died.
“Some people are a bit lost in life and this song is to encourage them to move on from the past and make new memories.”
Citizen recently announced a headline tour in February 2024 in support of the forthcoming record, including four special headline shows in the UK with support from Drug Church.
