Militarie Gun Announces Debut Album ‘Life Under The Gun’

Militarie Gun’s debut album will arrive on 23 June, and will include today’s brand-new single ‘Very High’.

The 12-track project will also include previously released single ‘Do It Faster’, which arrived in February.

‘Very High’ arrives with a music video directed by Mason Mercer, which gives a tongue-in-cheek reference to 90’s and noughties teen drama television – check out the video below.

Speaking about the new single, Militaire Gun frontman Ian Shelton has described the track’s meaning, saying:

“‘Very High’ centers around the desire to escape the embarrassment of day to day life as much as possible.”

“From the lyrics, to the video to the cover art of the album, it’s about struggling with something no one else sees, ‘I’ve been feeling very down, so I get very high.’”

Whilst ‘Life Under The Gun’ has been announced as the band’s debut, the L.A. outfit have been fast-releasing music since they formed in 2020, with 2021 seeing the release of the dual ‘All Roads Lead To The Gun’ EPs.

In June and July, Militarie Gun will also return to Europe to play their first London headline show at The George Tavern – a show which sold out in minutes upon its announcement last month.

They’ll also be making a number of festivals, including Outbreak, Roskilde and 2000 Trees, Ieper, and will play another headline set at London’s Electric Ballroom.
