Paramore have shared the second piece of ‘This Is Why’ and it’s another incredible and vital banger.
Paramore have returned once more with another track from their upcoming album ‘This Is Why’, and it’s something else.
It’s called ‘The News’ and is as jangly, angular and biting as it gets. Talking more about how difficult it was to feel like you were doing some good whilst trapped inside over the past year, watching life-changing event after life-changing event play out in front of you, it’s a track that will resonate with absolutely everyone who hears it.
Showing off the rawest part of their sound whilst also still managing to maintain that irresistible danceable edge.
And the video is a horror show of sorts, showing off the intense effects that focusing on the horrible parts of life can do to you.
Hayley Williams had this to say about it:
“The News is one of those songs that came together pretty quickly and felt exciting from the start. It feels like a happy medium between classic Paramore angst and bringing in some influences we’ve always had but never exploited. Watching Zac track drums for this one was one of my favorite memories from the studio. Lyrically, it probably explains itself. The 24-hr news cycle is just impossible to comprehend. And I feel a pang of guilt when I unplug to protect my headspace. The common reaction, or non-reaction, seems to be dissociation. Not one of us is innocent of that and who could blame us?”
