The Gaslight Anthem have shared a video for ‘Spider Bites’, the opening track from their brand-new sixth studio album – their first record in over nine years.
The band’s ‘History Books’ LP arrives today (27 October), and marks the follow-up to the band’s 2014 ‘Get Hurt’ album.
And for a timely release, the band have shared the video for ‘Spider Bites’, which sees them in a celebratory mood in time for spooky season, with a Halloween-themed party.

Describing how their ‘Spider Bites’ track came about, The Gaslight Anthem frontman Brian Fallon has explained:
“That song came together at a time when so many bad things were happening at once, starting from that first line: ‘My teeth are crumbling structures.’
“It’s about trying to cope in those moments when it feels like everything’s going wrong.”
The creation of ‘History Books’ saw The Gaslight Anthem working with acclaimed producer and engineer Peter Katis (whose credits include The National, Interpol and Death Cab for Cutie), and record at his Bridgeport, CT-based Tarquin Studios.
It of course features prior singles, ‘Positive Charge’, ‘Little Fires’, ‘Autumn’ and the Bruce Spingsteen-featuring title track.
The Gaslight Anthem are set to make their long-awaited return to the UK for a full headline tour in March 2024, with a run of dates that kicks off on March 18 at Glasgow’s O2 Academy, and concludes at Dublin’s 3Olympia on March 29.
