Tilly Kingston Releases New Single ‘Youth Is Wasted’

Tilly Kingston has shared her new single ‘Youth Is Wasted’, which rails against anyone who looks down on the singer’s life.

The new track follows Tilly’s 2023 debut single ‘Best Break Up Ever’, which arrived in July and has racked up around 1.4 million views on YouTube.

Her debut EP is set to arrive this Spring.

Tilly’s main ethos as an artist is to connect to anyone who’s ever felt like a misfit, describing how this track in particular is:

“…a tongue in cheek ‘Piss Off’ to all the people who look down on me and say I am wasting my life and having too much fun.

“Well if this is wasting my life then fuck yeah, I am, and loving every minute of it!”

Have a listen to ‘Youth Is Wasted’ and how the track embodies this mindset via the video below.

Having grown up above local music venue Feathers in the city of Lichfield, 15 miles north of Birmingham, it was perhaps inevitable Tilly would enter the music world, with her cited influences including the likes of David Bowie, Corey Taylor and Ghost’s Tobias Forge.

She’s said of her upbringing:

“People ask me what growing up around so much music was like, and I don’t know how to answer it. I’ve never known any different.”

And having teamed up with multi-platinum producer Mike Krompass – who incidentally first encountered Tilly singing one night at the Feathers – she’s since gone on to turn her lifelong love into her craft, and is releasing through his new Base Culture Music Group label.
