Yours Truly Release First New Music Since 2022 With ‘Call My Name’ Single

Yours Truly have shared their first new music since their 2022 EP ‘is this what I look like?’.

The Sydney alt-band’s new single, ‘Call My Name’, is a potent return to form, capturing the feelings of being addicted to a person you know is bad for you.

Further explaining the meaning of the track, which arrives via UNFD, frontwoman Mikaila Delgado has shared:

“You turn away from all their red flags because you have so much hope that they can be the person you created in your dreams. You defend them and begin to blame yourself.

“I realised that we as people crave acceptance from the people who make us feel we are not enough and on the other side some people use that power to their advantage.

“At the end of the day you realise some things aren’t meant to be and you need to make peace with that.”

‘is this what I look like?’ signified a shift from the band’s previous trademark pop-punk, with an exploration of more heightened rock, and was later given a lo-fi reworking.

In April last year, it was announced that guitarist Lachlan Cronin and drummer Brad Cronan had departed the band, with Mikaila and guitarist Teddie Winder-Haron continuing on under the same name.

Yours Truly will feature later this month at THPS25, celebrating 25 years of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater in Brisbane, along with the legend himself, Tony Hawk.

The band will also embark on a tour this March to launch ‘Call My Name’, with performances in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne set to take place.

A year might not be too long an amount of time, but it’s no doubt great to see them back.
