Pure Noise Records To Release Second Compilation Of Classics Covers

Pure Noise Records and Pabst Blue Ribbon are teaming up to release ‘Dead Formats Volume 2’ – the second compilation album which sees the Pure Noise Records roster take on classic songs.

The 15-track project, which arrives September 05, will see signees of the prestigious Nashville-based punk-rock label rework tunes from the likes of Elton John, The Kinks and Taking Back Sunday.

The original concept for the project was originally to curate a way for fans to discover new, like-minded bands, the same way compilations such as Atticus’ ‘…Dragging The Lake’ or the ‘Vans Warped Tour Compilations’ did in the 90’s and 2000’s.

Volume 1 of the ‘Dead Formats’ compilation arrived last August and its second instalment will feature the likes of Less Than Jake, Koyo and Sad Park.

Three covers already released from the second volume of compilations includes Less Than Jake’s take on The Kinks’ ‘Come Dancing’; Knuckle Puck’s version of Third Eye Blind’s ‘Losing A Whole Year’; and Lavalove’s reworking on Nirvana classic ‘Lithium’.
