Cold Years Drop Nostalgic New Single ‘Radio’

Aberdeen’s Cold Years have released a nostalgic-ridden single ‘Radio’, which is the latest from their forthcoming album.

The new track is a sonic throwback to the band’s 2020 debut album ‘Paradise’, which embodied the spirit of the bands that have influenced them such as Green Day and Alkaline Trio.

Describing what ‘Radio’ is about, Cold Years frontman Ross Gordon has said it explores:

“Memories of growing up in a small town trying to deal with a few small minded people. I love where I am from, I love my home, but I never want to see some of those people again.”

Cold Years’ new album ‘A Different Life’ arrives April 26 and has previously been heralded by the release of the single ‘Roll With It’ and the politically-charged ‘Choke’.

It was recorded at The Barber Shop Studios in New Jersey by producer Brett Romnes (whose prior credits include Hot Mulligan and Boston Manor), and mastered by Rogue Planet Mastering (who’s worked with Rock Sound 25 Icons Against The Current, and A Day To Remember).

Speaking about the album in full, Gordon has added:

“This is the first time I’ve ever come out of a studio able to listen to the tracks, where, and I say this 100% with conviction, we went in and did everything we wanted to do and more.

“I’ve never done that. I’ve always come out feeling like we could have done something better or different. But this album changed the game for all of us as a band.

“We didn’t just do twelve tracks that sound the same. We tried to make things a little different. That happened naturally, and it’s the most musical experience I’ve ever had.

“I definitely feel a confidence with this record that I didn’t feel on the others.”
