Evanescence have reached more than a billion streams on Spotify for their classic ‘Bring Me To Life’.
The achievement puts them in a prestigious group of the Spotify Billions Club.
Last year, Amy Lee and co. were celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Fallen’ – their seminal debut studio album on which ‘Bring Me To Life’ is from – and celebrated with a deluxe edition.
And now they can add another accolade to the album’s achievements, with the record’s most popular track now achieving more than a billion Spotify streams.
(That will no doubt sit nicely alongside the Rock Sound Hall of Fame award we gave Evanescence at the end of last year).
Sharing the news on their socials, Evanescence wrote:
“We cannot thank you enough for joining us on our journey. Incredibly grateful that Bring Me To Life has reached over 1 billion streams on Spotify.”
Evanescence are now part of a Spotify playlist which recently added Blink-182, after their hit ‘All The Small Things’ surpassed one billion streams last week.
Other recently-added additions include Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’, Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Paradise City’ (the band’s third track to surpass one billion streams) and AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’ (their fourth).
Have a watch of our interview with Amy, where among many things she discusses recording the demo for ‘Bring Me To Life’.
