RØRY Shares New ‘Family Drama’ EP And Video For ‘Black Hearse’

RØRY has delivered her eagerly-awaited ‘Family Drama’ EP and shared a video for one of the project’s new tracks, ‘Black Hearse’.

RORY

‘Family Drama’ has been billed as a deeply personal project, and contains the likes of prior tracks ‘Alternative’, ‘hurt myself’ and ‘the apology I’ll never receive’.

The eight-track project also features new song ‘Black Hearse’, which arrives with its own video – have a watch and a listen below, which sees RØRY in an abandoned house while wearing a torn wedding dress.

Speaking of the track, RØRY has shared:

Welcome to anti-manifesting… let me explain. I wrote this song THREE WEEKS before meeting the person I was going to marry… they say it happens when you least it expect, and for me that was 100% true.

“This song is about how I would literally rather die than ever get married. I didn’t believe in it, and had zero interest in it, for reasons explained in the song. Scream it loud if you’re single…”

True to the sentiment and honesty across the ‘Family Drama’ EP, she’s added:

I come from a dysfunctional family, where the absolute worst thing you can ever do is tell the truth. Mentioning the long term affair between my father and step-mother led to a breakdown in our relationship.

“But… their secrets are not my secrets. This EP is me finally giving a voice to the girl who has been silenced and shamed for simply having difficult emotions in the face of affairs.

“Rage, sadness, regret, grief… these are the words that come to mind when I think of my family of origin. And I know I am not the only one.”
